How to Compile BitConnect Daemon in Ubuntu Linux?

​​This guide will help you in compiling the BitConnect daemon in Ubuntu Linux. This is a necessary step if you wish to set up a node of BitConnect Coin. Begin with fresh Ubuntu (14.04 x64) installation. If you require a VPS for hosting, we recommend Digital Ocean to start with.

Remember to use sudo in front of all commands if you’re not logged in as root.

  • Update your Ubuntu-VPS using the following commands.

- sudo apt-get update

- sudo apt-get upgrade 

  • Install all required dependencies using the following commands.

- sudo apt-get install build-essential libssl-dev libdb-dev libdb++-dev libboost-all-dev git libssl1.0.0-dbg

- sudo apt-get install libdb-dev libdb++-dev libboost-all-dev libminiupnpc-dev libminiupnpc-dev libevent-dev libcrypto++-dev libgmp3-dev 

  • Pull the BitConnect source code from BitConnect Coin official web site, or upload it yourself.

- wget www.bitconnectcoin.co/bitconnect-daemon/bitconnectd.zip

  • Extract the zip file.

- unzip bitconnectd.zip -d destination_folder

(For install unzip, use "apt-get install unzip" command)

  • Now Install the daemon.

- chmod +x bitconnectd

- sudo mv bitconnectd /usr/bin/ "

  • Create the config file.

- nano $HOME/.bitconnect/bitconnect.conf

  • Copy and Paste the following lines in bitconnect.conf, save and exit.

rpcuser=RPC_User

rpcpassword=RPC_Password

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

listen=1

server=1

txindex=1

daemon=1 

  • Now run the daemon.

bitconnectd
